Welcome to the Nova Scotia Haflinger Club ( NSHC ) .
We are a small but growing group of Haflinger owners and enthusiasts of these versatile animals be we breeders, show at exhibitions, owners, or lovers of the breed. Our goal is to educate, promote and support the preservation of the Haflinger horse. The club offers the members the opportunity to discuss, ask questions, seek assistance and disseminate information on area activities. |
The Nova Scotia Haflinger Club is a registered non-profit association established in 2001 by a group of Annapolis Valley owners who where interested in showing at local exhibitions as a breed and have over the years been listed under the Haflinger name at exhibitions in Lawrencetown, Windsor, Bridgewater and Caledonia Nova Scotia with having as many as 22 Haflingers participating at one show. At our peak our membership we represented some 60 plus registered animals scattered throughout the province.
However over time the various owners have for whatever reasons sold off many of their animals to new owners within and outside the province. |
It is now that we endeavor to broaden the scope of interests to include those owners who are not interested in only exhibitions but in the every day life of our Haflinger's across the province. It could be those with Haflingers that would like to know of others in their area and perhaps get together for a trail ride , a fun day or even a training clinic. Our yearly membership is inexpensive at $15 per person and whether you participate in the meetings or not gives you access to a wealth of resources be it knowledge, training help or finding equipment.
